I've seriously been weeping all morning over the businesses in my local area who have
been absolutely decimated by lockdowns - it is beyond sad!
So many businesses have been forced to close, while other's have
had to downsize just to keep the doors open.
I headed to my local Nature's Market this morning and I was shocked!
The contents of the store had been moved into a section of
approximately 1/3 of their previous operation. Minimal lights paved
the way through the store. (electric savings?)
Formerly a thriving, lively, bright place to congregate in their
cafe, or to shop the rows of locally grown organics or browse
an array of holistic products - is gone.
The shelves of what's left in the holistic products section are
sparse, but surprisingly I was able to find every item I was looking
for!
The owner is determined to make the business work through
blood, sweat and tears. I hope more people step up to support this business
and other's as they try to re-build.
........and yes, I could have ordered from the likes of amazon, but it
feels so much better to support local!
