Visiting the local metaphysical shops

I was on the hunt for a nice piece of shungite this past weekend and
ended up visiting two local metaphysical shops in the area.

One of the shops I've been visiting for over 20 years.  I walk in
the door and the owner knows my name, which sets a tone
of comfort-ability.  But in 20 years, the store hasn't changed at all -
we're talking hippies from way back when.  The product
selection is some what limited, just a little of this and that. I
love going to this family owned shop, but rarely do I find what
I'm looking for!

I also visited another shop last weekend, this one is relatively
new in our area.  Most definitely a more modernized version
of a metaphysical shop - and they have an over abundance of
items to choose from.  But............
Most items are under lock and key, requiring the assistance
of a salesperson - and there are 3.  The minute you choose a
crystal from within the glass enclosed counter,
they sweep it off to the cash register - we'll hold
it for you until you're ready to checkout.  It's a very
uncomfortable feeling to me, I want to hold the crystal,
feel the energy pulse through my hands.........

I was surprised when I found they had a few rainmaker's
on an accessible shelf.   I picked each one up but I wanted
to work with one in particular, to feel the energy.

Within seconds I had 2 salespeople approach me.........
Would you like for us to hold that for you while
you continue to shop?

NO, I would like to hold onto this 24" X 3" stick for a few
minutes to see if I feel comfortable with it.

I didn't buy the rainmaker, I was feeling so self conscious
around the entire experience.  Did they think I was going to slide this huge
stick under my shirt while escaping out the front door?
Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this particular shop in the future.

Do they know?  Perhaps they have an abundance of
theft........perhaps they are attracting it?  I simply can
no longer tolerate dis-respect in any form and to
me the constant monitoring of my every move in
the store is a form of dis-respect.

So I've decided to stick with my old haunt; small family
business hippie shop.  Anything I want they can order.

You've got to feel the vibes!
